The Garbett Plateau trek is one of the most beautiful grassland walks near Matheran — a windswept emerald carpet on the western edge of the hill station, with 360-degree views over Bhivpuri, Karjat and the Sahyadri ranges. Unlike the crowded Matheran viewpoints, Garbett stays wild and quiet. The trek is a point-to-point route from Bhivpuri Road station to Matheran's Dasturi Naka, taking you past paddy fields, forest and the open plateau. It is easy to moderate and a favourite monsoon getaway for trekkers from Mumbai and Pune.
